SOUS: SHAMROCK

TREASURE BOX DESIGNS:

Hello there SOUS fans!! Welcome to my blog. Today we are featuring the shamrock!! Since my husband's birthday is in just a couple weeks, I decided to make him a card with this cute bear from Treasure Box Designs.  I went to scrapbook.com's "color wheel" to come up with what would go with green.  I didn't want to make a monochromatic card.

NOW, go see what our lovely DT members have come up with for their projects for more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!!

I used TBD's face stamps for this bear's face. The sentiment is a Verve stamp.

Card Kit: I dig you

TREASURE BOX DESIGNS:

Hello there! I would like to share with you a card that I made using TBD card kit: I Dig You. I followed a sketch by mojomonday for this card as well.  The kit came with the words for this card, but I didn't think my Cricut could have handled cutting small letters well. So I improvised!

I guess you can say that I made this card just before Valentine's Day, but I'm not really into celebrating that day very well. So my first goal was to stay away from the typical "red" colors of V-day. I also didn't use all the hearts the kit came with as well, but that was my choice. I hope this card inspires you in some way, and not just as a "love" card for one day of the year.

I may send this card to my sister, who is also an avid scrapper. Our styles are SO different, but that is all part of the fun!!

Supplies:
PP: MME 6x6 Reunion
Spellbinders
Pearls from Recollections (Michael's)
Small sticker letters

SOUS: Write

SOUS DIE CUT: "Write"
Treasure Box Designs

Hello there SOUS fans!! Here we are with another Friday die cut challenge - "write".  We are to make a die cut(s) around that theme (books, pencils, notebooks, pens, etc). I must admit, for me, I loved the idea of this theme and had a whole lot of ideas swirling around my head but couldn't seem to nail this one down. I ended up making this project in stages.

First, I made the girl. She is a single "Treasure Tot" file from Treasure Box Designs named "Becky". I LOVED how she turned out. I would like to rename her "Suzie" for she reminds me so much of my best friend in high school.  As you can see, she is holding a stack of books.

Next came the idea for the card. Of course, I also had a deadline to meet!! Nothing like working under pressure . . . I followed a sketch by Mojo Monday.

After I found the sketch I wanted, I dug thru my TBD files for the rest of the card as well. The pencil is from the "Back to the Books" file.  The circles and scalloped circle are from the card kit "I Dig You" at TBD too.  I will be revealing my interpretation on that card soon!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Head on over to SOUS to see what the rest of the very talented ladies on the die cut team have come up with today.

For those of you who want to know, "Becky" is about 4 inches tall.

The pencil ended up being about 5 inches tall.

The card ended up being 5.5 x 6 inches.  Technically, it's not a square card!! (That's what I almost always make!)

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: BALLOON

TREASURE BOX DESIGNS

Birthday Boy!

Hello and welcome to this Friday's SOUS die cut challenge: Balloons!  I followed this "Mother of Boy's" sketch on Pinterest.

So I can be pretty lazy about actually scrapping events that happen in my home. Birthdays, holidays and vacations seem to get pushed back constantly over "that cute random photo I really want to use".  With this week's challenge, it just made sense for me to dust this photo off and finally scrap about my son's 4th birthday.

I also incorporated TBD die cut file from "Out of this World" onto this LO. See the little blue alien . . .

He's covering his ears cause he thought that birthday candles would be just as loud as fireworks!!  So cute!

Thanks for stopping by! Please go to the SOUS blog for more inspiration!

Thanks to my sister's influence, I also used rub-ons on this LO.

Balloons are from Cricut: Create a Critter. I cut off the "paper string" and added twine in it's place.  I decided not to do the "face" from that cartridge.

PP BG: Life of the Party
stitching on machine
Rub-Ons from 7 Gypsies
Twine
MME: Round letters (I think my sis gave me those)

Treasure Box Designs: Notecards

Notecards for Kids

Hello there! I've been working on cards for a special donation that I try to do every year. Rhonda Towe from scrapbook.com is a volunteer counselor for Royal Family Kids Camp. She asks for donations in the form of handmade cards for the kids. Intrigued? You can find all the details here. This is an awesome way to reach out to children AND use your scraps for a good cause.  Inspiration for these small notecards came from my Pinterest.

Here is just a few that I made using TBD "Out of this World" file. I am also using this file for a birthday LO of my son to be posted later. I know these cards aren't fancy, but that's not the point. I'm also particularly interested in making "boy" cards since most crafty people I know make "girl" cards. The counselors ALWAYS need boy cards! They like the inside of the cards to be blank to write to the children on a daily basis.

So, I double-dog dare ya! Choose any simple die cutting file from TBD and get started. You won't regret it!

Supplies:
Kraft Paper
Black Pen
Buttons
Printer for small quotes
Solid Cardstock and/OR
SCRAPS - any will do

SOUS: Die Cut Wreath

Treasure Box Designs

Hello and welcome to this week's die cut challenge by SOUS!  The challenge is to use die cut(s) to make a wreath.  I swatted away some cobwebs to come up with a Valentine's Day card using hearts, flowers and snowflake (greenery) die cuts in the shape of a heart.  (P.S. There is a die cut heart underneath all the small hearts and flowers.)

I used Treasure Box Designs' "Best Friends Forever" file and just didn't use the second bear.  I embossed and glittered the heart for extra effect to also enter the challenge at My Craft Spot.  I added a tiny bow to the tiny tag for a final touch.  Stop by the blog SOUS for some more yummy ideas from my fellow DT members!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Treasure Box Design Team

Treasure Box Designs, an online die cutting design store, recently had a DT call.  With a little nudging, nail biting (on my part) and a WHOLE lot of encouragement, I decided to try out.  WELL, I was one of 8 ladies picked!!!  I am very excited about this opportunity to work along side such wonderfully talented ladies!

Without further ado . . . here is my first project!!!  I used TBD "Snow Birdie" file on this LO.  I also handmade my own flowers!  The title is from Cricut Winter Woodland Cartridge.  The "blues" part of my title did not show up well . . . should have used a different color of Stickles. *shrugs*

Of course I did some hand stitching as well using a circle template.

This picture is me taken in December 2011.  I've been waiting for over a year for the right PP to come along as well as the right die cut, sketch, etc etc. All the PP is Bo Bunny's "Powder Mountain" line.

There are some brads and small branches on the LO as well.  Sorry, don't have a close up picture of it.

I added puffy paint and stickles to the bird as well as various places on my LO. It's adds such a wonderful touch to anything handmade.

Supplies:

PP: Bo Bunny Powder Mountain
TBD File: Snow Birdie
Cricut Winter Woodland
Bling
Branch Punch

Hello there! It's Friday again and time for a SOUS die cut challenge!!  This week is "switch-a-roo"!!  That means to switch a letter in your title for a die cut. Simple really . . .

For this challenge I chose to scrap a LO with a picture of my dad.  There are actually several simple die cuts on this LO but the one that counts is in my title. I followed a sketch by myscrapsandmoresketches that I had pinned on Pinterest.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Go on the the SOUS blog and get more awesome inspiring ideas for die cuts on your layouts!!

I love layering on my LO's.  Just makes you want to go "poking" to see what all you can find huh?

I used the chicken wire template here for some background stenciling.
Here is a close up of my title. I used SCAL to create it.

Chicken Wire template
TH Distress ink: Frayed Burlap
