Scrap The Boys: And So the Adventure Begins

Hello there!! I am sharing my last layout with Scrap The Boys DT today! I have been with Rachel and the team for nearly two years!!!

This month's challenge comes with cut files by Gwen!!!

I used Pretty Little Studio's Ain't Life Grand paper and embellishments for this layout. I also used two of Gwen's files for this . . . her background file and large adventure title.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Scrap The Boys: Life is Good

Hello and welcome!!! It's that time again for a new challenge at ScrapTheBoys!

A friend of mine said, "Girl, you could have made a bigger cake!" LOL . . . my son really wanted to celebrate his 12th birthday at the Melting Pot and this is how they do it. He just LOVES that restaurant and the close atmosphere the place encourages.

I was hugely inspired by this layout on my Pinterest board.  I wanted to make something simple, but bold! So I grabbed my 49 and Market stamps, gelatos and a smattering of various words stamps from my stash.

Scrap The Boys: I Love You to the Moon and Further

Hello and welcome! Today is the start of a new challenge at Scrap The Boys!!
Without further ado, here it is! The design team really went all out and has incredible diversity of pages for this challenge. Hope you find inspiration!

I got the starburst freebie die cut from Paper Issues. I will admit, this did not quite turn out the way I wanted, plus the photo of the page is not helping. It seems I'm on the down low with taking good shots these days with trying to learn to use a new lens.

Scrap The Boys: Loving Today

Hello and welcome!!! Today is the 1st and that means a new challenge is waiting
for everyone at Scrap The Boys!!! For this month, it's a mood board challenge,
with lots of blue. For an added bonus, the design team was also provided
cut files from Cuts 2 You showcasing Created by Gwen Designs.

I fell instantly in love with the heart and
it was just a matter of figuring out how I wanted to use it.

I used a touch of Lindy's sprays to really make the heart "pop".
The pattern paper is by Pretty Little Studio's "Ain't Life Grand" collection.

Scrap The Boys: Merry Christmas

Hey! It's December 1st and you know what that means!!! Time for a new challenge at

I was greatly inspired by Missy Whidden's summer piece from a couple years ago.
I didn't quite pull off her bright design but it's all good anyway.

I added a light layer of white acrylic paint, instead of gesso. With a small chevron stencil, I then
colored in the pattern using metallic gelatos Ice Currant and Gold Champagne.
I followed that up with stitching! Pattern paper is by Teresa Collins: Tinsel & Company.

Scrap The Boys: U + Me

Hello there! It's that time again for a new challenge at Scrap The Boys!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

I have lots of photos of my son and I'm not in many of them. I have even fewer photos of me and my husband, but we did get family photos taken last year. So I thought this was a great opportunity to make a page about us! I was greatly inspired by Natalie DeSousa's page with Simple Stories.

I used leaf cut files from the Silhouette Design Store. All the pattern paper and extras are by Fancy Pants "Golden Days" collection.

You can really bring a page together just by adding stitching.

Scrap The Boys: Love You So Much

Hello! It's the first of the month which means it is time for a new challenge at Scrap The Boys!!!

I went with the white, pink, and blue for a layout about my son on a swing. He had the best toothless smile only a mother can love!!!! (Hint: I have another photo of him missing so many teeth it's hilarious.)

Making a page about my son in his younger days means I get to reach for bright colors! Woo hoo! And I'm rolling in bright colors and paper packs by Pretty Little Studio.

Hope you like my page and thanks for stopping by today!!!

Scrap The Boys: Hello

Hello and welcome! It's a start of a new month and that means a start of a new challenge at Scrap The Boys!!! Below is the inspiration for this month's challenge.

I won't lie . . . it's a hot summer. It's rather hard for me to get motivated to scrap during the summer months. My office gets really warm in the afternoons and I'd just rather be at the pool, honestly. So, it took me three tries to get this layout right.

I finally settled on a die cut by Ashley Horton. This photo really needed a bright, but light background and Pinkfresh has those in abundance.

All of the embellishments are from Pretty Little Studio. Love their products!!!! The stamped quote is from Citrus Twists.

I added stitching to the die cut at the very end to give it some dimension. Otherwise it became rather lost on the background.

There was a short period of time when my son would let me practice taking photos. He has the prettiest blue eyes. Now . . . . . he's older and I have to bribe him to at least face the camera. LOL!

Scrap The Boys: Play in the Water

Today starts a new challenge for Scrap the Boys!

I've been in a summer mood lately and decided to scrap this gem tucked away in my photos. When it comes to scrapping rowdy boys, I like to either take the "loud and bold" approach or the mixed media "messy and masculine" approach.

I decided to play with this fun die cut provided by Paper Issues! I did add journaling along the bottom of the layout, but my logo is covering it up because I wrote names.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:

Paper:
Bella Blvd: Sand&Surf
Pebbles: Fun in the Sun
Echo Park: Summer Bliss

Embellishments:
Silhouette Cameo - die cut design and title from Paper Issues

This month it's a mood board challenge. Be sure to check out all the fabulous layouts our design team came up with for this challenge.

I recently updated my Pretty Little Studio stash and just had to use it for this layout!

The large leaves are from the Silhouette Design Store. Lots of embellishments and die cuts from Pretty Little Studio's 'Island Treasure' collection.

The background is from Simple Stories Snap Basics.

After taking photos of this layout, I did go back and add journaling around the leaves.

Scrap the Boys: Splash

Hello and welcome!! It's a brand-new month and time for a new challenge at Scrap The Boys.

This month we are teaming up with Cocoa Vanilla, which unfortunately I
do not have any of their products in my stash. So I decided to go completely bright
and colorful.

'Summer Fun' is a cut file I purchased from the Silhouette online store. I also offset the
cut in the patterned pink to really make the frame pop.

I reached for several items from various places in my stash that seemed to all
have coordinating colors. The die cuts are from the Pebbles line.

I would consider this layout to be simple in design and execution. Some dots,
twine and die cuts and you have yourself a masterpiece!!

Scrap The Boys: Follow Your Dreams

Hello there!! Did I not tell you? I'm now part of the Scrap The Boys Design Team!!! Woot! There are going to be some fabulous challenges lined up for you this year so I hope you'll join me this season. Without further ado, here's the first challenge.

We had family photos taken this year for the first time in 7 years!!!!! Yikes . . . far too long. So bear with me this season as you may be seeing a lot of family photos type 'layouts' in the coming months. I was greatly inspired by this layout on Pinterest. I have been diving more and more into the world of mixed media. It's still a huge learning process and it takes time to build up a color stash. But I'm still very happy with how bright and playful this turned out.

I used a lot of die cuts and a few scraps of paper from Pinkfresh's
"Dream On" collection. The thread of circles is die cuts by Tim Holtz.

Stamps by Tim Holtz and Citrus Kits.

Supplies:

--Paper: Pinkfresh: Dream On collection
--Diecuts: Pinkfresh: Dream On collection
Tim Holtz dies and stamps
Stencils: Brick and Codes
Gelatos: Tangerine and Lemon
Modeling Paste mixed with color
Black acrylic paint
Citrus Twist phrase stamps

Scrap the Boys September challenge is to include "you" in the photo. If you are like me, you are always behind the camera, not in front of it.  That blog always has great challenges but somehow I get distracted and don't always participate.

Well, this summer I spent a lot of time with my son and randomly decided to get in one of those cheesy photo booths with him one day. So glad I did!!

The sketch and design was greatly inspired by Ashley Horton.  I just love her work.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!
