Scrap The Boys: One of a Kind

Hello again! Today I'm sharing with you my DT layout with ScrapTheBoys!!
Here is the challenge:

Let's just say it's rather hard to get my son in front of camera these days. And, it's even harder
for me to be beside him since I'm the one holding the camera.
So, photo booths for the win!!!

This fabulous cut file is a freebie provided by TheCutShoppe! I believe it was
created with Spring in mind but I love how girly and versatile the file actually is.
I wanted to step away from the typical "mommy and me" layouts cause that's just not us.
Plus, my wonderful kid doesn't mind if I put his mugshot on pink paper.

The papers and embellishments are from HipKitClub
where I used both a mixture of January and February kits.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Christmas Tree

Hello!! Today I would like to share with you my latest page using HipKitClub December's main kit.

I have been stalking them for years and I have finally decided to take the plunge to see where the kits lead me. I have two styles I like to play with, one is with bright colors and large die cuts and the other is mixed media.

I am hoping that HipKits encourage my lighter side to come out more. Although I have plenty of paper in my stash, most of it is not recent or just scraps left from other projects.

Without further ado, here is my lighter side using an exclusive cut file by HipKit. I did use SN@P Basics wooden paper for my background.

THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY TODAY!!

Live life to the fullest: PDE Linky Party

Hello there!! I'm here today with PDE Linky Party Challenge: Buttons!

I love this balloon box card by SVGCuts. It's just so versatile. Pick any theme with it and you will have a whole new card.

I really took the plunge with the color scheme. I grabbed a couple sheets of paper that I knew I wouldn't be using on layouts. I have really liked my cards when I end up using "different" style paper for them than I would use for other projects. I really didn't know if I would like the end results but I just kept going. In the end, this is one of my favorites.

Try it! I double-dog dare you!

I am also entering this into DL.Art's Linky Challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Family Always

Today we took our exchange student, Tobias, to the airport. It was bittersweet for everyone. Tears, hugs and "well wishes" can't really begin to sum up the last 10 months. He is ready to go home . . . he wants to stay . . . All of our hearts are a little broken.

We have laughed with him. We have been frustrated and angry. We have loved and protected him for nearly a year. He has been our German teenage son and a wonderful brother to Joscelin.

We love you!!!

We will miss him so very much.

Usually I am behind the camera. So this very rare picture of all four of us is precious to me personally.

I am not big with gushy words so I will leave you with this layout. I express myself thru scrapbooking and sometimes even that is not enough.

I used April's Hip Kit Club for this layout with a few extra embellishments from my stash.

Thank you stopping by today.

For more photos please stop by my photography blog as well.

a great day

I have recently been greatly inspired by the "Hip Kit Club" and especially Ashley Horton. It SHOWS that she has fun making scrapbook pages. I want to be like her when I grow up!! LOL

Nearly everything you see here came from the August 2013 kit. I added my own title from Silhouette Studio and brads for a little "shine".

I followed this sketch from "MyScrapsandmore".

On a personal note, this "day" was actually wonderful. Sunny skies, warm weather without the humidity and delicious strawberries. My photography was very much in the beginning phase at this point. I think I was still tripping around manual mode (if I was even that far).

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Orange/white twine is from my stash.

The brads are actually copper colored.

SOUS Die Cut Challenge: CIRCLES

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am featuring the SOUS die cut challenge using "circles".

I will admit at first I was stumped. But then I started exploring ideas and have been really inspired by all the use of negatives on pages.

I was also greatly inspired by this sketch from Pinterest.

Finally, I used the April scrap kit I purchased from the Hip Kit Club. Wow!!!!! I believe I have found a new love in my life. Who knew, right??

Thanks for stopping by today. Check out what to rest of our fabulous DT members have come up with for inspiration as well.

The circles were designed on SCAL3.
