Studio Challenges: Beautiful (me)

Hello! Today I'm up with a page about . . . me! *gasp* *choke*

It's all part of the new challenge at The Studio Challenges - make a page about you.

I went back . . . . way back . . . . to me 20 years ago. I started my career in animal medicine working with exotics. It's always been my first "love", although I didn't stay with exotics due to lack of making any money.

Here I am, young and slender with long curly locks, feeding a baby wallaby.

I chose the mat with triangles and title from the Silhouette Design store. I decided the word "beautiful" needed to stick out more so I cut it out in a different color.

My "new" thing for 2017 is to step away from squares and rectangles . . . or at least try to. This way I still get to play with paper and not have to invest in a whole genre of mixed media.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I chose pink chipboard letter in the form of journaling for this. They
describe how I saw myself at twenty. (Or at least how I remember those days).

Cluster of fun goodies

Supplies:
Echo Park: Everyday Eclectic
Silhouette Design store - mat of triangles and title
A bunch of goodies from my stash!!
(Did you read this far?) *wink*

Creative Scrappers: Beautiful

Hello and welcome! Today I'm featuring my version of sketch #303 by Kristine at Creative Scrappers!

I have been slowly working on my vacation photos from Germany. I really wanted to scrap some photos I'd taken without people in them, and use my Altenew Reflection kit.

Without further ado, here is the sketch and my version of it!!

Sketch #303

Stitching defines my scrapbooking style as much
as anything else. Since I don't currently have
working machine, this is hand-stitched.

Aren't these watercolor papers and embellishments beautiful?

The kit came with stamps, wooden embellishments and chipboard.
The misting is Glimmer Mist Cranberry Zing.

I love this bike! I chose it because Germany is filled with bikes everywhere!

I am also entering this into the Scrap the Boys challenge which is to used something new. The reflection kit is definitely new!!

Supplies:

Altenew Reflection Kit
Glimmer Mist Cranberry Zing
Hand-stitching
Tim Holtz Ruler
Enamel Dots from stash

Book Nerd.

It's rather "freeing" to make a page about an object. I was able to use paper I don't normally reach for when scrapping about my son or myself. It was also fun to really mix it up with the embellishments as well.

I made this page for my Scrapbook.com challenge, "Not to be Squared". Making our main mat on the layout a rectangle(s) or square(s) is easy. A lot of us love it when a crafter gets a bit "crazy". So far, the challenge has been a HIT!

I really wanted the title to be "A bit of light reading" but I couldn't seem to get my head around something that long. So I chose the title from TheCutShoppe instead. Ashley Horton is the queen of stepping away from squares.

My husband gets these intense books about engineering and literally says they are easy reads. Whatever. . . . .

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Supplies:
---Pink Paislee - Solstice
---Crate Paper - Dreamy
---Crate Paper - Click
Ashley Horton - The Cut Shoppe (title)

Happy 10th Birthday!

Hello and welcome!!!!

Today I would like to share with you a special layout I made for many different challenges. I followed two of Stuck?!Sketches to make this layout! One from last month and the one from this month! I'm also entering this into the current challenge at ScrapOurStash. It's a tic tac toe challenge and I'm using 'the color red, hearts, and mixed alpha title'.

This also is a part of several challenges at SB.com  One being creative titles and the other is scrap with your scraps. Nothing new is on this layout!!!

My son's ninth birthday was bittersweet as it was just four weeks before we moved across the country. His school year was full of sadness and tears. I promised him his fourth grade year would be better.

Although he misses Indiana terribly, his 10th birthday indeed marks that his 4th grade year is shaping up to be better than his 3rd grade year. He had three of his good friends come for the afternoon. His daddy made "dirt cake" and afterwards we walked with the boys over to the high school so they could play with my son's various menagerie of wheels (and I could take pictures). It was a great day!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Supplies:
---Simple Stories - 24/7
Reverse Die Cut - star (silhouette)
Hand Stitching
Button and Twine
A bunch of random embellishments
(if you had read this far I'd be surprised)

Studio Challenges: Dear Santa, Define Naughty

Hello and welcome!!!

Today is a new challenge at The Studio Challenges!! The challenge for the next two weeks is a sketch!!

Check it out!

P.S. This sketch is based off of a previous layout I did. Thanks Anna!

I have already used the title 'Dear Santa, Define Good' on a previous layout so I went with 'Define Naughty' for this one. It matches the photo too, don't you think?!

I used lots of mixed goodies from my Christmas stash for this layout. Tiny alphas by Cosmo Cricket as well as brads and cardboard stickers from Hobby Lobby.

Don't forget to add stitching . . . is my motto for sure!!

Supplies:
Paper: Bella Blvd. Holly Jolly Christmas
Hand-Stitching
Cardboard stickers from HL
Cosmo Cricket Tiny Alphas
Brads from various places
AC Thickers (Red Sparkly Alphas)

Fuss is a Must!!!!

What's with the blog title you ask?!

There are times when a crafter just needs to make something "fast". Which is all good except the project looks like it was slapped together.

These Valentine cards were created for the "If You Give a Crafter a Cookie" and we are being sponsored by 'The Cutting Cafe' this week. She has some adorable Valentine cards and projects!!!!

It so easy to just have your machine cut it out, you glue it down and move on right?!!

Boring. The end.

Add something to your simple cards . . . it will really bring them life. A little fuss is definitely a must!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I used the Valentine Window Word set from the Cutting Cafe.

No fuss. Just glue and paper. BORING!

Supplies:
--EP - Double sided dots and stripes
Twine
Heart Punch
Cork
Paper Piercer and thread
