Fly

A typical day at the park.  But with a bright and beautiful smile on my son's face as Daddy helps him with the monkey bars.  Of course this LO boasts stitching, but my newest craze is flags.  I've avoided flags on LO's and cards for a long time but now I simply don't know why.  They are a fabulous addition to any boy LO.

This LO is inspired from a sketch by scrapbookandcardstoday.

The PP is from Fancy Pants: Summer's End.  The title is a cricut die cut from Sentimentals (I think).  The butterfly was provided from a swap I participated in a while back.

The dragonfly is a rare embellishment purchase of eksuccess brands.  Some more close-up of the stitching.

Teacher's Card

Pres-School Teacher's Card:

Today, my son "graduates" from preschool (they are even having a ceremony) and we are going to miss his no-nonsense but lovable teacher, Ms. Dee.  This card was inspired from a pin on pinterest.  My son will be going into kindergarten next year a wonderful student thanks to Ms. Dee!

As far as creativity, this card was incredibly simple to make.  Don't forget the glossy accents to make the eyes "pop"!!

PP from Basic Grey.  Diecuts are from Cricut: Create a Critter.  Faces from PeachyKeenStamps.

Summer Sunshine

I completely love this picture.  It was taken at a time when I barely knew how to turn on my camera.  I'm better with my DSLR now so next time we are at the beach, I hope to stay long enough to get that perfect silhouette picture.  The funny thing about my LO's now is that my current style is perfect for using scraps.  Except I didn't use scraps.  Of course I have an overabundance amount of this PP "Heat Wave" by American Crafts.

I also played around with spritzing the white BG with Tattered Angels: Denim Blue.  I think I did ok, considering I've never tried this technique before.  I did not make any of my own embellishments for this LO cause I have a box full that needs to be used!

LO inspired by this sketch by sketch support.  It even tells you how wide to make the strips and margin measurements.  Also, the site gives you pointers on how to change the sketch to suit your needs.  Fabulous for when you are new or even in a hurry.

Added some gems for a little extra bling.

Huge Compliment:

It's a huge compliment to me that a fellow team member of mine routinely asks for "get well" cards for her friends.  She likes to use the play on words with "heal".  I don't mind :)  They are all dog lovers!!  I made this card as masculine as I could because it is for a man who is in my team members' agility class.

What I love to do is shop for the cutest collection of diecut dogs!!  Cats coming soon . . .

PP is by Authentique 6x6 Gathering Collection.

Diecut is from TreasureBoxDesigns.  Again, I used glossy accents on the eyes.  It really helps to give the dog that sad puppy look.

Thinking of You:

This card was a special order from my fellow team members at work.  A wonderful client of ours lost her beloved pet, Morgan, last week.  We wanted to give her a card that had more meaning than something bought from a store.  I hope she likes this card.

On a creative crafty note, I decided to glossy accent the eyes.  What a huge difference that made in the look of my diecut!  Definitely doing that from now on!

"Thinking of You" is a stamp from KimberlyCraftSpot.

The PP is Authentique 6x6 Gathering Collection.  The diecut is from a collection by TreasureBoxDesigns.

Mother's Day Card:

This card I made for my mother.  She's girly with two girls of her own.  The flower is handmade using the small retro flower punch.  Since I buy zero ribbon, I made do with the twine I have on hand.  (Got plenty of twine in three colors).  I hand stitched this card cause my sewing machine, at the moment, can only do straight stitches.

The girl is from Treasureboxdesigns.com  The face is from PeachyKeenStamps.
The stamp is from http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/

The pattern paper is MME from the Lost & Found collection.

Mother's Day:

For many mothers, all we know is the world thru the eyes of a little boy.  So I made this card for my MIL, not all pink and girly, but for that simple reason that she only has one son and one grandson.  I just mailed her this card yesterday so she may get a sneak peak if she stops by.

The PP is MME from the Lost & Found Collection "Sunshine". The little boy was a weekly freebie from Treasure Box Designs

The "Mom, I love you" is from craftspotbykimberly.com  Thanks for looking!!

National Scrapbooking Day:

Happy day to all those who love paper in all it's forms!!  This is my first LO in four months and it came together so quickly!!!  I'm really pleased with how this turned out.  The PP is Jillybean Soup "Cream of Mushroom" collection.  TFL!

Disney's Animal Kingdom was the last place we visited during our week stay at Disney in September 2010.

I do like to make most of my own embellishments.  This is a handmade bottlecap (more or less).

I add stitching to nearly everything I do.  Such a versatile and  easy embellishment.

I handmade these banners.  Inked, spritzed with water and crinkled up.  It was an easy way to help fill up the excessive negative space.
