Mixed Media Canvas: Timeless

Hello there! Creative Embellishments has an interesting challenge this month and I enjoyed playing along!! I love piling on the embellishments for a canvas, but the color scheme was especially fun to play with.

The base of my canvas is made with stencils and modeling paste. This is quickly followed by corrugated chipboard (this is found in random purchases of household objects) and a layer
of a large piece of Creative Embellishments honeycomb chipboard.

Lots of layering and gluing commenced after that. I worked on this piece in sections. I painted and worked on the background separately from the main attraction. I also accidentally discovered the really cool effect of using Finnabair's Opal Magic Coral-Green.

I just had to add that really cute little fork into this piece. Have no idea why. The melange pebbles
are all painted with Finnabair's Sparks Butterfly Spells. No other distressing so they would
really stand out, like stars.

I simply love the metallique blackberry and plum preserves color. I don't have this color
anywhere else in my home or clothes closet, but I just love it on my canvases.

Mixed Media: Care

Hello! Today I would like to share with you my final project for the "Adopt-a-Teacher" PTA campaign. Volunteers can "adopt" one staff member to give a gift to every month. This is my final one for this school year. Hope she likes it!!

I also followed this month's color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang, especially since this staff member's favorite color is purple!! All my supplies are listed at the end of this post.

I wanted this project to resemble a card, without actually being a card. I wanted to keep it small and less complicated than my larger canvases. It's funny how I still end up using a LOT
of supplies though. The base is Tim Holtz tissue paper, modeling paste with stencil and layering two of Lindy's sprays.

I built the embellishments using fillers, CE frame, Prima key mold and flowers. I added die cut fillers and metal embellishments from my stash to give this a rather "full" look.

I tried to find in my stash a title that was appropriate for a teacher. I found this cute metal embellishment by Prima. I know it's not much, but I felt the word summed up teachers and staff quite nicely.

I added Vintage Gold Wax as a final touch to my project. Hope you are inspired!

Scrap The Boys: One of a Kind

Hello again! Today I'm sharing with you my DT layout with ScrapTheBoys!!
Here is the challenge:

Let's just say it's rather hard to get my son in front of camera these days. And, it's even harder
for me to be beside him since I'm the one holding the camera.
So, photo booths for the win!!!

This fabulous cut file is a freebie provided by TheCutShoppe! I believe it was
created with Spring in mind but I love how girly and versatile the file actually is.
I wanted to step away from the typical "mommy and me" layouts cause that's just not us.
Plus, my wonderful kid doesn't mind if I put his mugshot on pink paper.

The papers and embellishments are from HipKitClub
where I used both a mixture of January and February kits.

Thanks for stopping by today!!
