Hydrangea Tray

Hello everyone!!! Mother's day is coming soon and I love the awesome excuse to make a 3-D project, especially one that involves flowers.

This is a brand-new file by Dreaming Tree. Isn't it gorgeous??!!!!

Tips: If you are not new to 3-D paper making, you really don't need to watch the tutorial video. It was actually really easy cause it's rather simple boxes. However, the flowers will hog all your time. Inking and shaping them took me about an hour I think.

As far as pinning the flowers to the styrofoam ball, start around the bottom and work your way up. The PDF file provided says they used Acrylic paint, which I assumed they painted the ball first. Instead, I used a tiny flower punch and extra pins to fill in the gaps. They look like little Hydrangea buds!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Supplies:
--Graphic 45 - Botannical Tea
--White Cardstock - 5 sheets
--Pastel AC Cardstock (flowers)
Petite Pearlized Pins (sewing section at HL)
3" styrofoam cut in half
Glue
Low-Heat Glue Gun

KBD: When Life Gives You Lemons . . .

.... Drink Lemonade!!!!

Today I'm here to share my DT post featuring KBD.

Ok . . . so I tweaked this file a bit by sort-of taking creative liberties. Mainly cause my original cut caused me undue distress. I just couldn't handle not making my own eyes. I also took out the extra "lemon slices", the mouth and little pink tongue. I want to keep my cuts simple and dealing with little pieces gives me a headache.

For those of you that like the little pieces - ROCK ON! Just not me. So if the little pieces cause you to sweat too, don't be discouraged by the file. You can choose to not deal with them and STILL make KBD and her creator proud. Or any other svg site you choose to use.

I followed a sketch from MojoMonday.

I used the Shoptastic Cutie: Lemonade Pitcher. I had the perfect stamp to go with it that I had not yet used (up to this point).

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:
--Paper:
----Bella Blvd. - Color Chaos
My Craft Spot stamp and die (no longer in business)
Glossy Accents (ice)
Liquid Pearls White Opal

Stuck?!: Simply No.1 Dad

It's a new sketch reveal day at STUCK?! I hope you'll join us. Be sure to stop by the blog for more awesome inspiration by the design team.

I dabble in photography. I will take a lot of photos at once and then not pick up my camera for quite some time. It's a curse, really.

My dad showed up to my house wearing his brand-new, Texas style outfit AND in a good mood. He actually wanted me to take pictures of him. So everyone shoved us outside and I tried to "work" the magic.

Tip: The photo was taken on a perfect, cloudy day. Yep, cloudy. Sunlight is evenly dispersed on cloudy days creating "perfect" light and NO shadows or overly bright skin. Cloudy days are fabulous for photography!!!

The layout actually came together really nicely. I love negative space so I didn't have to work my creative brain all that hard.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I bought Maya Road rub-ons years ago. I just opened it
for this layout. LOL
I originally had a little "arsenic" embellishment on here
and took it off. I forgot to put it back on. Dad loved that
idea!

My Dad - 2016

Supplies:
--Echo Park - Reflections pp and stickers
Tim Holtz random embellishments
Maya Road rub-on (clock)
Heart from my sister's stash
Black Twine
Black Felt star
Other stuff I'm sure

Be You

Oh yes! A layout instead of a card. I'll wait while you pick yourself up off the floor . . . .

I know I don't make enough pages. It's that I get caught up with 3-D projects and cards.... *whine*

I really wanted to participate in a couple challenges this month. One from Scrapbook.com and the other being ScrapOurStash blog.  It's actually a really great blog and I don't participate nearly enough.

So for the ScrapOurStash challenge I was inspired by the clouds, "You", and the red and blue colors. The catch is to use 2 clouds on your layout.

For the Scrapbook.com April challenge, I had to use 2 pics, twine, "pop" something, circle(s), and a cutting machine (or punch or cuttlebug). I ended up using all three!!

I used an archived sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I doodle the corners to help "break up" all the white.

I love arrows and popping stickers!

Simple Stories 24/7

I had a Chevron die that I used with my cuttlebug. Awesome
little gem to have. The heart is for my sister since she loves hearts
on everything.
Supplies:
---Paper: Simple Stories 24/7
---White and Red Cardstock
Cloud Punch
Chevron die with the Cuttlebug
24/7 stickers
Basic Grey arrow and star
Pop Dots
Pen
Silhouette Cameo - made large circles

Card: I believe in You

Hello peeps! Today I'm here to share with you my version of a "sports" card. I'm entering this into a challenge for both Scrapbook.com and DieCuttin'Divas.

Now most crafters reach for ball sports. Not me!! Ball sports are not the happening theme in my household. We all love martial arts, swimming, biking, frisbee and race car driving.

No team sports for us!!! LOL

This card will be for my son. He's a red belt and so karate is much harder at this point, which also means a person advances slower because there is so much more to learn and master. But he loves it and we (his parents) definitely believe in him!!!

Tip: Just because a die cut was made for vinyl does not mean you can't cut for a paper project too.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

The stripe colors are the belt ranks with his school.
The die cut is a "vinyl" cut from Silhouette store.

This photo is from 2014. He can kick higher than
that now.

I just love making 3-D projects. I really wish I could say that I made this for someone, but alas, I made it for me!!

This skimmer hat is from the new site Dreaming Tree. If you have not checked it out yet, you are missing out!

I think, someday, I'd like to make the hat again using my own "handmade" flowers. Perhaps a spooky hat?? Who knows . . .

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Stuck?! : Dear Santa

Hello there!! Today is my first layout with the sketch team "STUCK?!" It is a team of wonderfully mixed crafters and hope you will stop by the blog to see all the variety of inspiration.

I rarely scrap about Christmas when it's not Christmas. I usually just can't get in the mood. But for some reason, I wanted these photos with the sketch. They just spoke to one another.

I also love the titles that begin with "Dear Santa", but I have already used two of the popular phrases on other layouts. So I wrote my own! "Dear Santa, You and Grandma know all my secrets."

Well, both his grandmothers liked it anyway. LOL

Thanks for stopping by today!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Can't go wrong with pop dots and twine!

I used a mix of letters and words here. Pretty cool, huh?

Supplies:
Paper:
--Studio Calico - Magical PP
Stickers from various other design lines
--Including BazzillBasics
Tim Holtz - ChitChat stickers
Twine
Pop-Dots
