Paradise

Hello there! For NSD, I randomly won some cut files from The Cut Shoppe! The large paradise title was one of my choices . . . isn't it fabulous!!!

I used my Silhouette and SCAL to cut the file out. I fussy cut a LOT of flowers from BoBunny's Boardwalk and Beach Therapy pattern paper. Hope you are inspired!

P.S. The photos are from our cruise on the Carnival Magic!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TODAY!

Hello and welcome!!! Today is the 1st and that means a new challenge is waiting
for everyone at Scrap The Boys!!! For this month, it's a mood board challenge,
with lots of blue. For an added bonus, the design team was also provided

I fell instantly in love with the heart and
it was just a matter of figuring out how I wanted to use it.

I used a touch of Lindy's sprays to really make the heart "pop".
The pattern paper is by Pretty Little Studio's "Ain't Life Grand" collection.

Scrap The Boys: Love You So Much

Hello! It's the first of the month which means it is time for a new challenge at Scrap The Boys!!!

I went with the white, pink, and blue for a layout about my son on a swing. He had the best toothless smile only a mother can love!!!! (Hint: I have another photo of him missing so many teeth it's hilarious.)

Making a page about my son in his younger days means I get to reach for bright colors! Woo hoo! And I'm rolling in bright colors and paper packs by Pretty Little Studio.

Hope you like my page and thanks for stopping by today!!!

Scrap The Boys: Hello

Hello and welcome! It's a start of a new month and that means a start of a new challenge at Scrap The Boys!!! Below is the inspiration for this month's challenge.

I won't lie . . . it's a hot summer. It's rather hard for me to get motivated to scrap during the summer months. My office gets really warm in the afternoons and I'd just rather be at the pool, honestly. So, it took me three tries to get this layout right.

I finally settled on a die cut by Ashley Horton. This photo really needed a bright, but light background and Pinkfresh has those in abundance.

All of the embellishments are from Pretty Little Studio. Love their products!!!! The stamped quote is from Citrus Twists.

I added stitching to the die cut at the very end to give it some dimension. Otherwise it became rather lost on the background.

There was a short period of time when my son would let me practice taking photos. He has the prettiest blue eyes. Now . . . . . he's older and I have to bribe him to at least face the camera. LOL!

Scrap The Boys: Play in the Water

Today starts a new challenge for Scrap the Boys!

I've been in a summer mood lately and decided to scrap this gem tucked away in my photos. When it comes to scrapping rowdy boys, I like to either take the "loud and bold" approach or the mixed media "messy and masculine" approach.

I decided to play with this fun die cut provided by Paper Issues! I did add journaling along the bottom of the layout, but my logo is covering it up because I wrote names.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:

Paper:
Bella Blvd: Sand&Surf
Pebbles: Fun in the Sun
Echo Park: Summer Bliss

Embellishments:
Silhouette Cameo - die cut design and title from Paper Issues

Scrap The Boys: Adventure

Hello there! Today starts our new challenge month at Scrap The Boys!!!
This month it's a mood board challenge. Be sure to check out all the fabulous layouts our design team came up with for this challenge.

I recently updated my Pretty Little Studio stash and just had to use it for this layout!

The large leaves are from the Silhouette Design Store. Lots of embellishments and die cuts from Pretty Little Studio's 'Island Treasure' collection.

The background is from Simple Stories Snap Basics.

After taking photos of this layout, I did go back and add journaling around the leaves.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Studio Challenges: XoXo

Hello there! Today is a new challenge for the next two weeks at Studio Challenges.

The theme is 'Mirror Image'.

I did use a bit of creative liberties as mine is not exactly a mirror image.
However, whatever I did on one side of the photo, I did on the other side.
Since it's also a mixed media layout, it's not 'spot-on' exact.

I'm having a lot of fun playing around with Gelatos, stamping and stenciling. Who knew,
as I have always avoided stamping in the past.

I also ended up making my own circle background on SCAL4. Everything I found from
different sources were not mirror images.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Some minor amount of clustering here using a mix of wooden
and Pretty Little Studio embellishments.

I'm still learning a lot about mixed media. The lettering is white
acrylic paint and maybe next time, I will use something (color)
that stands out a bit more.

Supplies:
Pretty Little Studio: Woodland paper and embellishments
Gelato: pastels
Background stamps and stencils
Machine Stitching
Wooden Embellishments

Studio Challenges: Love Fall

Time for a new challenge at Studio Challenges!!

It's a fall color palette.

This palette was a good excuse to dive into the Oakley Avenue
collection by Ashley Horton. You can get this collection at

The giant leaf pattern is from the Silhouette Online store.

I filled in the various leaves with the pattern paper. I also
machine stitched the stems for added interest.

The hashtag is from Creative Embellishments. The mason
jar is a punch using a thin cork board.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TODAY!!

Studio Challeges: Beautiful Day

Today at Studio Challenges is a sketch!

I chose to flip the sketch and add a background wreath to it.

Photo was taken in the mountains in Germany. We were
about 1 mile high, so it looked like we were up in the
clouds. Everything about the photo is real.

I think there was suppose to be another cloud here,
but it fell off (not glued down) before I realized it
was missing.

The background is "today" from Ashley Horton.
I stitched all over and then added the extra zigzag
to make it look like "messy stitching".

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:

Paper:
---Elle's Studio "day to day" schedule - background

Studio Challenges: I've Got Big Dreams

Hello! Today is a new challenge theme at Studio Challenges: In Stitches.
I recently bought some new goodies from
Creative Embellishments and had FUN playing and stitching!! This page also fits
into their monthly challenge as well.

This photo of my son was taken at a car museum in Berlin, Germany during our vacation. My husband & son get excited about all these various car shows, and sometimes I get dragged along. With a big "sigh", I'll say, "Well, I guess I'll take pictures." That being said, it's the only time I can get a true photo of the essence and soul of my son. He has big dreams, and they all include cars!

I got the idea of a big stitched title from Missy Whidden and really, really
wanted to play with it using a twist of words from the
song "I like big butts and I cannot lie".

One technique I struggle with is journaling. Mainly because I usually have a lot to say
about the page and photo, and then end up writing nothing. This time I did journal,
but it's attached to the back of the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!!

The title font is part of a package from "The Hungry JPEG".

The various embellishments are a combo of Pretty Little Studio and
Creative Embellishments. The small tag reads "You must give everything to make
your life as beautiful as the dreams that dance in your imagination."

I cut out the title then hand-stitched all around it using regular thread.
I wanted to use thicker floss, but didn't have navy blue.

All the crazy background stamping is mostly from Creative Embellishments.
The chicken wire stamp is Tim Holtz. The ink is a combination of Tim Holtz
distress inks and chalk inks.

Studio Challenges: Explore

Today is new challenge week with Studio Challenges: Scrap about anything but a person.

First, let me just say that I'm aware that my photo editing is not all that great. I've updated my computer, etc etc etc . . . so I have a new program that I am learning. The first pic is about my fourth attempt to get it right. The following pics have entirely too much blue . . . but I'm hoping you get the idea.

This layout is about "signs" even though I used the title "explore". We were exploring Europe so . . . *shrugs*.

Imagine a time where 98% of the population could not read. So how would you communicate your business? With symbols or "picture" signs!!!! We found this cute little town in Germany called Dinkelsbuhl. Although modern, the town tried hard to show the history of Germany and Bavaria with small touches like these signs.

I found the large floral flower file from JustNick. I LOVE how it all turned out!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

The flower was getting lost in the layout so I stitched all around it with blue
thread to outline the flower.

The blue mist is Color Bloom Summer Sky spray mist. It's not
actually "teal blue". Bad photo editing, sorry.

If you asked me what I struggle with the most in crafting, it would
have to be titles. I could have a layout nearly done but still spend so
many more hours coming up with a title.

Supplies:
Paper:
~~AC White Yardstick
~~Pretty Little Studio: Let's Go Collection
Die cuts by Pretty Little Studio
Floral Flower Die Cut (background) - JustNick Files
Color Bloom Summer Sky Spray Mist
Sewing Machine - blue thread

Studio Challenges: Dream

Today's challenge over at Studio Challenges is to scrap lift a fellow team member.

I chose Rachel's layout from June 6th. We both have the same free file from Paper Issues
and I have been wanting to play with it for a while.

Several years ago we had family pictures done and I have yet to scrap
about them. I have been tackling those pictures recently and am loving
the results!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I have been playing a lot lately with making layouts that are not made with "squares".
All my cards are square, but I am loving getting away from it for my layouts.

Hand-stitched clouds for texture

Pretty Little Studio has a Woodland collection full
and adorable critters like this one. Too cute!

Supplies:

Paper Issues - Free Cloud File
Hand-Stitching
Echo Park - Spring (Beaming Butterflies) = background paper
Brads

It's that time again!! A new sketch from Creative Scrappers for you to play with this month.

Our Sponsor for this month is Ashley Horton's The Cut Shoppe. I used her 'Around & Around'

My layout is part of my collection of layouts from my travels to Germany last year.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Hint: Mistake is here.
