Scrap The Boys: One of a Kind

Hello again! Today I'm sharing with you my DT layout with ScrapTheBoys!!
Here is the challenge:

Let's just say it's rather hard to get my son in front of camera these days. And, it's even harder
for me to be beside him since I'm the one holding the camera.
So, photo booths for the win!!!

This fabulous cut file is a freebie provided by TheCutShoppe! I believe it was
created with Spring in mind but I love how girly and versatile the file actually is.
I wanted to step away from the typical "mommy and me" layouts cause that's just not us.
Plus, my wonderful kid doesn't mind if I put his mugshot on pink paper.

The papers and embellishments are from HipKitClub
where I used both a mixture of January and February kits.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Scrap The Boys: Summer

Hello and welcome to 2019!!!!! I'm happy to say that I will be continuing my journey with Scrap The Boys for the next 6 months. Without further ado, here is the challenge.

Scrap The Boys is based out of Australia and right now it is experiencing summer. I was hugely inspired by "HeyElsie" work on her Instagram page.

The large sun in the background can be found at the Silhouette store. I made "summer" using SCAL4 and lots of cursing and yelling at my computer to "just do it". LOL . . . it's a learning curve.

I used a combination of Echo Park and Lori Whitlock paper (a few years old) for this layout.

Scrap The Boys: Adventure Camp

Hello! Can you believe it's March already? It also means it's a new challenge over at Scrap The Boys challenge blog.

For this month, we are challenging you with a sketch provided by Laura Whitaker.

This sketch has all kinds of goodies and room for interpretation! I hope you play along this month. For me, I decided to use a different large shape, rather than the star. I purchased the campfire from an Etsy store called PureMerakiDesigns. I then hand-stitched the whole thing, which took about an hour.

You know those layouts that come together so quickly and just "flow". Yeah . . . this wasn't one of them. LOL! I know this layout doesn't look complicated, but my brain was having some serious roadblocks trying to put it together. Ever have one of those?

Once I decided on the campfire background, the rest of the layout finally came together . . . slowly. The paper is from an older line by Elle's Studio.

"Anyone who thinks the art of conversation is dead ought to tell a child to go to bed." Robert Gallagher (October Afternoon)

I used that quote on this layout cause it was quite the headache trying to get 11 boys to go to sleep at adventure camp. Let's just say "been there, done that . . . got the t-shirt".

GDT ScrapTheBoys: Jingle Bells

Hello there! Today I'm excited to share with you that I am guest
designing for ScrapTheBoys this month.

This photo is this month's theme and inspiration.

I decided that the "tree" was my inspiration, rather than
the colors. Maybe because I really wanted to work with this
paper line, which has a lot of pink? Who knows, right?

I know you are thinking... "pink and boys" don't mix. At one point
I would have agreed with you. But I don't know, this layout just works
for me. It's my 7 year old son kissing his daddy on the nose.

It's a sweet, cuddly and soft moment. Shhh . . . don't tell my kid.

I really wanted to work with the large cut file of trees from Silhouette's
Online store as well. I had this "whole vision" thing going on and I was not to be
derailed by the "pink"!

I used a wide range of products on this layout. The papers are from Studio
Calico's - 'Magical' line. Everything else is from "here and there".

My sister got me those Scrabble block letters. Aren't they awesome?!

Everything here is from random things in my stash. I have a three large
boxes in my craft room dedicated to Christmas stuff.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TODAY!
