SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: BALLOON

TREASURE BOX DESIGNS

Birthday Boy!

Hello and welcome to this Friday's SOUS die cut challenge: Balloons!  I followed this "Mother of Boy's" sketch on Pinterest.

So I can be pretty lazy about actually scrapping events that happen in my home. Birthdays, holidays and vacations seem to get pushed back constantly over "that cute random photo I really want to use".  With this week's challenge, it just made sense for me to dust this photo off and finally scrap about my son's 4th birthday.

I also incorporated TBD die cut file from "Out of this World" onto this LO. See the little blue alien . . .

He's covering his ears cause he thought that birthday candles would be just as loud as fireworks!!  So cute!

Thanks for stopping by! Please go to the SOUS blog for more inspiration!

Thanks to my sister's influence, I also used rub-ons on this LO.

Balloons are from Cricut: Create a Critter. I cut off the "paper string" and added twine in it's place.  I decided not to do the "face" from that cartridge.

TBD "out of this world" file
Supplies:

PP BG: Life of the Party
stitching on machine
Rub-Ons from 7 Gypsies
Twine
MME: Round letters (I think my sis gave me those)
solid cardstock
TBD Die Cut: Out of this World
CC: Create a Critter
Various other embellishments

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to a special little girl!!  I made this card for my coworker's daughter who is celebrating her first birthday today!!!  I really enjoyed getting out my peachy keen stamps to make this card.  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot.  I followed a sketch by Mojo Monday.  Because this card is going to a toddler, I kept it really simple.

All little kids like balloons right??

Die Cut bear and balloon are both from Cricut: Create a Critter.

Sweet Cheeks

Sweet Cheeks:

This was a fun LO to make.  It came together quickly with the help of a great sketch!  The PP is by Bobunny ad Lib collection.  Perfect colors for my little boy.  This picture has been hanging out in my "need to scrap this box" for years!! Sometimes a picture is just waiting for the right moment.  You know, the right PP, sketch, mojo . . . etc etc.

Pinned Image
I love Pinterest!!  Great way to organize all the things you love, like sketches and LO's for inspiration.  My sister got me hooked on it and the funny thing is that it took me "a while" to get started.

Mushroom is a die cut from the CC Create-a-Critter.  The face is by Peachy Keen Stamps.

The flags are hand-sewn using the sew easy tool.  I use my sewing machine for basic stitches but love the sew easy for more complicated designs.

Teacher's Card

Pres-School Teacher's Card:

Today, my son "graduates" from preschool (they are even having a ceremony) and we are going to miss his no-nonsense but lovable teacher, Ms. Dee.  This card was inspired from a pin on pinterest.  My son will be going into kindergarten next year a wonderful student thanks to Ms. Dee!

As far as creativity, this card was incredibly simple to make.  Don't forget the glossy accents to make the eyes "pop"!!

PP from Basic Grey.  Diecuts are from Cricut: Create a Critter.  Faces from PeachyKeenStamps.

Another "Get Well":

Yep, another get well card.  Not that I'm complaining!!  The real challenge is to come up with the right critter for the person receiving the card.  In this case, the recipient loves Westies.  I used the Cricut Create-a-Critter cart (great cartridge!!) and Peachy Cheap face stamp.   I only cut the main terrier, the shadow cut, and collar so I could make my own face. I used faux stitching cause I didn't want to drag out my sewing machine.  *Sigh* It's not in a good spot!!  Baker's twine finished it all up.

PP paper by MME Lost and Found Portobello Road.  Followed a sketch by Mojo Monday.

HEAL:

I have a customer who likes for me to make cards with animals on them. Together, we try to match the right dog for the person receiving the card. Being a dog and cat lover, she also likes the word "heal" on her cards in reference to "heel".  So, this is what I came up with.  If you haven't figured it out yet, I don't put bows and lots of bling on my cards.  I love the cards that have all the "pretty stuff" on them, but I simply can't make it work for me.  I tend to stick to dimensionally accurate cards.  All square or rectangular shapes although I do want to venture into the world of nestabilities.

Dog is made from Cricut Create a Critter.  'Heal' is from Cosmo Cricket tiny stickers.  Machine stitched all around the card.  PP is from BG Max and Whiskers line (I think).

Crayon Wreath

It's that time of year.  Betcha' you didn't see this one comin'.  (You are probably looking for reindeer and elves).  But I wanted to make something different for my son's teachers (yep, he has two preschool  teachers).  I do want to make one comment on this.  Hot Glue does not equal super glue.  This wreath is actually fragile but totally reparable if a crayon gets bumped "just right".
I had a lot of fun crafty time putting two of these together.   Really hope my son's teachers like them.  I got the idea from another blog here to learn how to make.
I really had fun making the worm.  He is from Cricut Create a Critter, but the face is from Peachy Keen Stamps.  For the glasses I used glossy accents. Just a touch of copics to fill in the mouth and nose, as well as doodled the edge of the critter for more character.

I also created the pencil, glue, and scissors from Cricut Nate's ABC's.  I doodled on all of them as well and am pleased with the results.  Thanks for stopping by!!
