Disney's Animal Kingdom

… and a Stuck on U Sketch.

Hello and welcome to my blog! This Friday over at SOUS is a new sketch reveal. I LOVED it. I hope you'll join us this week and showcase your interpretation of the awesome sketch by Leah Schaeffer.

This sketch gave me an opportunity to scrap about part of my family's Disney trip in 2010. I personally find scrapping about trips overwhelming. So.many.photos!

This particular LO features our last full day in Florida in which we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Even at the end of September it was so hot!! But it was not crowded which was definitely a bonus.

"We went to Disney World right before Joscelin's 4th birthday. Everyday we went somewhere exciting, and everyday we had one tired little boy. It was a wonderful week and looking forward to going back."

I'm thoroughly enjoying my tiny flag punches.

Our sponsor this month is Creative Embellishments. Play along with any of our projects this month for a chance to win this fabulous prize.

SOUS/Whimsical Designs Blog Hop

Hello there!! Welcome to our "March Blog Hop" with both StuckOnUSketches and Whimsical Designs!! We are so excited to share with you are wonderful layouts and cards based on the sketch provided by Sandi Clarkson. Hopefully you came from Annette Gearside! If not, I encourage you to start at the beginning with Sandi Clarkson.

Here is the sketch provided by Sandi Clarkson!!

Here is my interpretation of Sandi's sketch!! I used a pre-school picture of my son for this layout. I also used Treasure Box Designs die cut files as well.

The pencil is from TBD's "Back to the Books" file. The ruler and journaling are rub-ons.

Some flags I made from a punch. I added machine stitching and buttons for extra effect.

A close up picture of the bookworm!! This die cut is also from TBD's "Back to the Books" file.
 Supplies:

PP: MME - Kraft Funday "Celebration", Follow Your Heart's "Be Happy" and "Be Amazing", Fine and Dandy's "Fabulous"
Rub-Ons from Maya Road
Paper Studio paper for the Bookworm
Triangle Punch
Buttons and Brads
Treasure Box Design's "Back to the Books" die cut files
Thickers and Tiny Letters

SOUS October 3rd

Hello!!  Here we are with our first SOUS project for October!!  The sketch is provided by Leah Schaeffer.

This particular project is near and dear to me as I made this card for my son's 6th birthday!! I'm also particularly proud of this project as I used nothing but scraps from my Bobunny pile!

I have added my favorite embellishment, stitching, and again used an embossed die and verve stamp on this project.  But I'm mostly excited to finally use the really cute die cut candles from "my scrap chick".

I think the twine adds just enough "flavor" to the card, don't you?  For extra added flare, I also used glossy accents on the candle wax.

SOUS Project

It's that time of month again.  SOUS has a new card sketch challenge this week.  Here's what I came up with.

Happy Belated Birthday Mom!!

Yep, this card is for my mom and I'm VERY LATE getting it to her.  Invested in some Verve Stamps and Dies last week and am happy with their service and products.  I thought it was about time I had some sentiment stamps to work with on my cards.  Better late than never right??  Thank you for visiting!

Flowers are handmade using SCAL file.  Sentiment and die is a Verve stamp.  Embossing done with my cuttlebug.

SOUS sketch provided by Frank Garcia.
