SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: CLOTHING

Today is my day at SOUS to feature my take on this week's challenge - die cut clothing.

I'll admit it - I resisted this challenge at first. I had to search my pinterest board until I found a layout I really liked and wanted to scrap lift.

In order to tackle this challenge I knew I would have to indulge my "girly" streak instead of my usual boy layouts. I could have done overalls or tennis shoes but that's not where my brain was going.

I loved the thought of a huge paper bow on my layout. I just added a feminine dress for fun really, but the true "die cut clothing" is the bow tie.

I started out using a homemade kit (from my own supplies) but then it morphed into opening drawers, pulling out bling, etc etc. This layout took on a life of it's own. Considering it has been WEEKS since I made a page so I am really happy with how this turned out.

The only thing I think this page needs is stitching. Whoa is me, my sewing machine is put away in my closet. Way too much work to get it out. You ladies know what I'm saying right?!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

I really loved the layout that I used for inspiration.
There was more I wanted to do but my creative brain
just wouldn't let me.

I just used black pen for the faux stitching. The cute little dress
is from the Silhouette Store.

This bow actually comes with another layer. But I decided it was too
fat for a layout.

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: WARM & COZY

Hello and welcome to today's post featuring this week's challenge at SOUS - "warm & cozy".

I'm the first to admit that I sometimes take challenges a bit too literally. It can be hard to think outside the box. I have been with SOUS a while and have done this challenge before. Last time I put die cut scarves, mittens and hats on a layout.

This time . . . well . . . I did something else.

It's rare to find someone who doesn't like a warm cup of coffee or at least a cup of hot chocolate. On cold winter nights, I love having one or the other in front on my fire place with a fuzzy blanket draped over me. Yep, I'm "warm and cozy" with my coffee.

For all those girly-girls out there, this one is for you!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by today.

Love you tons

Hello there! It's my day to post for Scrapping Bug Designs on FB.

So a few days ago I was a-wandering thru Hobby Lobby and came across "a shiny". This 'shiny' was in the form of these cute "fruit boxes" just waiting to be decorated.

I couldn't resist!!!

I chose the "love you tons" svg file from Scrapping Bug Designs to be the main character. After that, just a little of this and a little of that and voila!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Ham & Cheese

My sister and I have one boy each. They could not be more different. My son is the "ham" and her son is the "cheese" of this dynamic duo.

In most of our pictures with the two of them together, it is quite obvious why.

I started out following this sketch from Pinterest. After that it took a life of its own, mainly because it took me a couple weeks to finish it.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: SNOW

Hello and welcome to this week's die cut challenge with SOUS - "snow". That means using a die cut on your project that represents (for you) "snow".

Remember last year's winter (2013-2014)? GAH!!

This photo was taken before any of us really knew what was going to happen. Snow, ice and freezing temperatures were still fun.

Our exchange student did not mind pulling my son around on a sleigh. His hands did get pretty numb from that though. I think he ended up putting on my gloves before the fun was over.

I followed this sketch from "myscrapsandmore".

The blue tree and snowflakes are my die cuts for this project.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

TODAY

What can I say? I was challenged by my sister to do a challenge. She was bored . . . I was bored. . .  so we both made layouts for this  sketch abilities challenge.

I have very mixed feelings about using mists and sprays on layouts and then using very little paper. Most of my spending money is invested in paper and embellishments. So it feels wrong to make layouts with mostly all mists instead. I do like how they turn out though . . . hmmm.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:
AC - Amy Tangerine "Yes, Please" - 'currently'
AC - white card stock
Mists:
--Tattered Angels - Tattered Leather
--October Afternoon - Comet Tail

Merry & Bright

My sister challenged me . What can I say. . . I lost!! *shrugs* She got her layout done first AND got it posted to the sketch challenge on time too!

Well, here's mine a few hours late.

Thanks for stopping by today.

My son hanging on for dear life while we strolled thru a
Christmas decorated conservatory.

I have a gazillion of these pop-up poinsettias.

I do love that my Silhouette can cut intricate titles. Getting it glued without
tearing it up is another challenge though.

Love twine and flags!

Paper:
--Teresa Collins - Candy Cane Lane

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: A NEW YEAR

Hey peeps!! It's been too long since I've actually made a scrapbook page. I've almost forgotten how!!

This week's challenge with SOUS is to use a die cut with the theme "a new year".

This was a bit of a challenge for me as I don't really celebrate New Year's. I'm almost always asleep long before midnight.

That being said, I have been greatly inspired by all the layouts using die cut templates lately. I used this sketch for this layout and am very pleased with how this turned out. It's a great way to use scraps!

P.S. I'm in LOVE with Teresa Collins' "Tinsel & Company" patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

A really rare photo of my husband and I. The photo was actually
taken several years ago, but *shrugs*.

"hello" is actually a STAMP. *gasp* *choke* (That one is for my sister!)

From Santa

 I have a confession to make . . . .

Making handmade gifts for family and friends brings me a lot of joy. I do get a rush of pride seeing their reactions to my creations. It is this "fuel" I use to keep going . . . to keep making things that are lovely and have meaning.

But I don't just make these ideas up in my head. There are many crafters out there that do . . . and I am in awe of their wonderful talent. So thank you to everyone who has ever inspired me. You don't know who you are but I am grateful anyway.

Thanks for stopping by today! Merry Christmas!

I am figuring out how to not overthink layering flower clusters. Just
gather what you want to use and start gluing. The key is to know what should be the
bottom layer and what should be the top layer.

This cute (and very easy) box is from SVGCuts.

I used Graphic 45's "12 days of Christmas" for the box. It just required
one sheet of paper!!

Supplies:
Paper:
--Graphic 45 "12 Days of Christmas" (box)
--Christmas red (roses)
--Christmas green (leaves)
SVGCuts file
Ribbon
Candy Cane embellishment
Flower punch (bottom layer)

Tiny bells

SOUS: DIE CUT CHALLENGE: ANYTHING CHRISTMAS

Welcome to this week's die cut challenge with Stuck on U Sketches!  This week's challenge is "Anything Christmas". *snort* Too easy!

I would like to share with you my latest home decor with you.

It is the 'JOY' file from Scrapping Bug Designs.

I found the perfect frame for it at Michael's and voila! It's really that simple.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Since this project is in a frame behind glass, I had to make sure
to keep the letters and mice "flat".

Orchestrating the string of lights was really the only challenge with this project.

--Christmas Green
--Blue
--Lime Green
--AC Caramel (mice)
--Black
--White

Sugar Cookies

Hey there! Today I'm featuring another box card made with various items from Scrapping Bug Designs.

I really love cute faces and box cards. So I really have to dig into the creative side of my brain to meld the two together.

The design of the box card is SVGCuts. The layers and gingerbread man is all Scrapping Bug Designs. I featured another box card a couple weeks ago with a winter theme. Again, melding the two companies together to create what I wanted.

The flaps have a shiny "Merry Christmas" on them but my speedy photo taking doesn't really show that.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:
Scrapping Bug Designs
Fancy Pants "Home for Christmas" paper
Glue
Tiny brads (cookie dough)
Small pearls (baking sheet)
Merry Christmas Embellishment from Hobby Lobby
"box card" from SVGCuts
