SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: HOME SWEET HOME

Welcome to this week's die cut challenge with SOUS - "home sweet home".

I do love my 3-D projects!!! I was greatly inspired by Thienly Azim, DT member at SVGCuts, and her "wonderland lamp" project.

My project was made exclusively with files from SVGCuts and a little birdie from Joann's.

I used Graphic's 45 "Botanical Tea" patterned paper.

This is not my favorite photo but I was afraid to take it outside as this is
rather fragile. I've been purchasing wide candle bases for these type of projects.

The flower is from the topiary file at SVGCuts. The leaves are from the
3D flower choices. The topiary is from the
"Thank you for the music"file.

The teapot, saucers, cups and spoons all came from the file
"Tea for You and Me" file at SVGCuts.
Supplies:
SVGCuts:
---Tea for You and Me
---Thank you for the Music (flowers)
---3D Flowers (leaves)

Spanish Moss
Wide base candle holder
Hot Glue Gun
Brads
Ink (various colors for distressing)
Bird (Joann's)

Paper:
--Graphic 45's Botanical Tea
--AC Cardstock Ivory, White and Green

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: MOM

Hello and welcome to this week's die cut challenge with SOUS. The challenge is simply "Mom". Of course, with Mother's day right around the corner there are just so many possibilities.

Over a year ago I discovered the awesome "smooth and swirly" file from SVGCuts. I've only used it once and this week's challenge gave me the opportunity to use it again.

The patterned paper is Teresa Collins' 6x6 "Life Emporium".

Thank you for stopping by today!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: CLEAR SKIES

Hello and welcome to this week's die cut challenge with SOUS - "clear skies". This could be planes, clouds, birds, balloons, etc etc.

Me . . . I took the smor-ga-board approach. Little of this and a little of that . . . and I had a boy layout!!!

The layout is about my son and his daddy building him a backyard zip line when he was four. The zip line was a huge hit at his 5th birthday party. All the kids flew across the yard one after another leaving us with a bunch of tired, dirty and happy children.

The title I got from the online Silhouette store. Most everything else is from October Afternoon's Rocket Age and Sidewalk collection from 2011.

I had to force myself to stop adding layers!!!

The ribbon is from a BoBunny's long ago collection.

I don't know why, but I do really like using Kraft paper mildly
distressed as my background for a lot of boy layouts.
Supplies:
Paper:
--October Afternoon
   --Rocket Age
  --Sidewalk
AC Cardstock - various colors for the title
BoBunny ribbon
Various embellishments from October Afternoon and other places
Stencil Templates - Dots or "code"
Black ink

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: IN THE GARDEN

Hello and welcome to my blog! This week with SOUS we are to make a project with a die cut theme of "in the garden".

I really went all out. This entire project is die cuts! The wagon, the title, and the flowers are all die cuts and homemade.

I got the idea from SVGCuts design team projects. Those ladies are seriously talented and come up with wonderfully amazing things. If you want to learn how to make the wagon just click on the link.

I even special ordered "wood grain" pattern paper for this project. I really wanted that authentic, wooden feel to the wagon. This "garden" piece is now part of my growing collection of paper projects that decorate my home thru out the year.

I love how the flowers turned out. Yep, made them all but one!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Spanish Moss
Die Cuts:
--SVGCuts - wagon and Queen Anne's lace flowers

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: ANYTHING GREEN

Hello and welcome to my blog! The die cut challenge with SOUS this week is "anything green".  Your die cut can be anything you want, but it's gotta be green.

I refused to strain my brain on this one. This is actually my least favorite time of year to be creative. Confession: I don't celebrate St. Patrick's day nor do I really like the color.

THEREFORE, I made a box card . . . with strawberries!!! Green basket, green stems and green leaves for my project. Super easy!!! If you love this card I got the file from SVGCuts.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:
Paper:
--AC Cardstock - Green
--October Afternoon Patterned Paper
Large Button

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: CLOTHING

Today is my day at SOUS to feature my take on this week's challenge - die cut clothing.

I'll admit it - I resisted this challenge at first. I had to search my pinterest board until I found a layout I really liked and wanted to scrap lift.

In order to tackle this challenge I knew I would have to indulge my "girly" streak instead of my usual boy layouts. I could have done overalls or tennis shoes but that's not where my brain was going.

I loved the thought of a huge paper bow on my layout. I just added a feminine dress for fun really, but the true "die cut clothing" is the bow tie.

I started out using a homemade kit (from my own supplies) but then it morphed into opening drawers, pulling out bling, etc etc. This layout took on a life of it's own. Considering it has been WEEKS since I made a page so I am really happy with how this turned out.

The only thing I think this page needs is stitching. Whoa is me, my sewing machine is put away in my closet. Way too much work to get it out. You ladies know what I'm saying right?!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

I really loved the layout that I used for inspiration.
There was more I wanted to do but my creative brain
just wouldn't let me.

I just used black pen for the faux stitching. The cute little dress
is from the Silhouette Store.

This bow actually comes with another layer. But I decided it was too
fat for a layout.

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: WARM & COZY

Hello and welcome to today's post featuring this week's challenge at SOUS - "warm & cozy".

I'm the first to admit that I sometimes take challenges a bit too literally. It can be hard to think outside the box. I have been with SOUS a while and have done this challenge before. Last time I put die cut scarves, mittens and hats on a layout.

This time . . . well . . . I did something else.

It's rare to find someone who doesn't like a warm cup of coffee or at least a cup of hot chocolate. On cold winter nights, I love having one or the other in front on my fire place with a fuzzy blanket draped over me. Yep, I'm "warm and cozy" with my coffee.

For all those girly-girls out there, this one is for you!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by today.

Hello there! It's my day to post for Scrapping Bug Designs on FB.

I couldn't resist!!!

I chose the "love you tons" svg file from Scrapping Bug Designs to be the main character. After that, just a little of this and a little of that and voila!!

Ham & Cheese

My sister and I have one boy each. They could not be more different. My son is the "ham" and her son is the "cheese" of this dynamic duo.

In most of our pictures with the two of them together, it is quite obvious why.

I started out following this sketch from Pinterest. After that it took a life of its own, mainly because it took me a couple weeks to finish it.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

"Cheese"is one my my free fonts on SCAL3. "Results not typical"

SOUS DIE CUT CHALLENGE: SNOW

Hello and welcome to this week's die cut challenge with SOUS - "snow". That means using a die cut on your project that represents (for you) "snow".

Remember last year's winter (2013-2014)? GAH!!

This photo was taken before any of us really knew what was going to happen. Snow, ice and freezing temperatures were still fun.

Our exchange student did not mind pulling my son around on a sleigh. His hands did get pretty numb from that though. I think he ended up putting on my gloves before the fun was over.

I followed this sketch from "myscrapsandmore".

The blue tree and snowflakes are my die cuts for this project.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

TODAY

What can I say? I was challenged by my sister to do a challenge. She was bored . . . I was bored. . .  so we both made layouts for this  sketch abilities challenge.

I have very mixed feelings about using mists and sprays on layouts and then using very little paper. Most of my spending money is invested in paper and embellishments. So it feels wrong to make layouts with mostly all mists instead. I do like how they turn out though . . . hmmm.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:
AC - Amy Tangerine "Yes, Please" - 'currently'
AC - white card stock
Mists:
--Tattered Angels - Tattered Leather
--October Afternoon - Comet Tail
Stitch Doodling
Fancy Pants Bow Tie  and Arrow
