KBD: HI

Hi!!!

I'm here today for two reasons. The first is because it's my day to post for Kadoodle Bug Designs' blog. The second is to play along with PaperPlaySketches

You can find the file for the little girl goat here.

You know, I rarely give any tips. I usually more of a "here's the photo go knock yourself out" kind of crafter. I'm thinking that's going to change in 2016. I'm not going to bore you with step by step instructions, but more of general rules that I go by when making cards and die cuts.

Whose ready??!!

Tip #1: If I really want to make my cards "sing", I'll add a second "pop" feature. I don't want to take away from the die cut, but am very interested in making you pay attention to it.

For this card it was the ribbon. Otherwise, it's just a flat card with a cute goat on it. It can be bling, a bow, ribbon, flowers, etc. If you go thru my archive, which cards "sing" and which do not? Why?

Thanks for stopping by today!!!!

KBD: Keep Calm and Craft On

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today is my turn to bring you a project featuring Kadoodle Bug Designs.

I recently moved across the country, and therefore into a new craft room. I am slowly deciding how I want to decorate. I finally made something new, cute and sweet for my crafty space. Trust me, the rest of my house is not this "cute and feminine".

This project was made in stages. First deciding about the wooden signs, how many to have and what color. Then making the 'uber' cute critters from Kadoodle Bug Designs. And finally adding small touches of handmade flowers and buttons.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

All my critters are cut and put together. Even the eyes
are made by me.

I just love how the golden yellow of this duck can really
make the eyes "pop".

The daisies surrounding this skunk are divine. I did add
one extra handmade flower of my own.
Supplies:

Hobby Lobby:
Wooden signs
Folk Art Acrylic Paint: Soft Apple

Paper:
All card stock of various colors
(Paper Accents and AC brands mostly)

Flower Punches
Pearls

Make Today Great

Hello there!!

My good on-line friend, Georgiana Carson, likes to coral and bully her crafty buddies to join challenges.

This past weekend she nudged a few of us to join Paper Play Sketches this month. I told her next time to phrase her request like this,

"Now you ladies get busy now. You bought all this stuff so go make something with it. Here.....Start with this sketch."

So if you are one of the ones that Georgiana likes to nudge, those words are coming your way!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

It's time for a new sketch this week over at Let's Get Sketchy!!

Triangles can be so fun to work with - practically a classic.

I took this photo a little over 2 years ago. I'm not 100% satisfied with the title, but I could not find anything else suitable.

I'll leave it to you to decide who the "dreamer" is ... :)

Head on over to Let's Get Sketchy to see what else our fabulous team came up with for this week's sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Let's Get Sketchy: Seriously Awesome!

Hello there! Welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing with you my layout using this week's sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

Truth . . . I've been holding onto this photo for quite a while trying to come up with the perfect paper to use with it. My son is young and boisterous here. Only loud "boy" colors would do.

My sister and I recently found a local scrapbook store . . . went shopping . . . and the rest is history.

Hop on over to Let's Get Sketchy to see what else our fabulous team came up with.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Roses Box Card

.... by SnapDragon Snippets. I purchased the file from the Silhouette Online store.

Wow . . . do I love how it turned out!

Technically this is a box card and well ... I'm not mailing it anywhere. I'm going to put it on my nightstand and pretend it's from hubby.

Tip: This file came with "backing" that you can cut to support row 2 and 3. One would need something "clear" so it could not be seen. Instead, I choose to recut the front stems in Kraft paper and glue to the back of row 2 and 3 respectfully. Kraft paper is strong and you can't see it since it mirrors the front stem.

As far as a box card, this was rather easy to put together. I really only had to make a couple "paper" choices. I did ink the edges of the flowers for effect.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Paper:
--AC Cardstock - Graphite (base) x 1 sheet
--Paper Accents CS - Berry Smoothie (roses & heart) x 1.5 sheets
--AC Cardstock - Pine (leaves) x 2 sheets
--Red CS from stash - valentine
--White CS for trim
--Stash of scrap paper for the rest since large pieces were not needed.
