Joy to the World - Christmas Card

Hello there!!

Today I'm sharing with you my first card for the challenge blog Freshly Made Sketches. It leans towards "clean" styles with very easy sketches to work with every week. I've just started following the challenge blog . . . go check it out!!

I also made this card for the SendASmile4Kids donation. Right now it's challenge blog is featuring Fall themed cards.

As you may know, I love die cuts. I just can't seem to enjoy coloring images no matter how cute they are. The candy cane is a die cut from the Silhouette online store.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Stuck?! Sketches: 3MPH

Once upon a time I saw this really cool photo of a skateboarder going down a hill. The photo really looked like he was "moving" . . . the background was nothing but blur.

I tried to recreate this same effect with my son recently. He was only going about 3MPH, parked cars were in the scene and he was more interested in making funny faces.

So, there you have it folks!

Halloween Cards 4 kids

Hello there!!

I recently discovered a great way to not only be a part of card challenges, but also donate most of those cards to an organization called "Send a Smile 4 Kids".

As most of my followers know, I usually make my own die cuts from various artists. But there's something to be said for the "fast and furious" method too. Like using pre-made die cuts I already have in my stash.

I followed sketches from Freshly Made Sketches for these cards.

All of these cards were made from scraps from October Afternoon's Witch Hazel.

Stamp is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

Stamp is from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

Hello there!

Today I'm sharing with you a Halloween/Fall card I made using the sketch from Die Cuttin' Diva challenge.

I used scraps from the Echo Park Arsenic and Lace paper.

The ghost and pumpkins are from Treasure Box Designs.

I will be submitting this to a challenge blog I recently found called Send a Smile 4 Kids. I make a lot of cards for challenges and don't seem to know what to do with them later. I have made "cards for kids" in the past but it's usually one lump sum, not a yearly thing.

So be prepared for more blog posts to be cards 4 kids!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Funny Face

Scrap the Boys September challenge is to include "you" in the photo. If you are like me, you are always behind the camera, not in front of it.  That blog always has great challenges but somehow I get distracted and don't always participate.

Well, this summer I spent a lot of time with my son and randomly decided to get in one of those cheesy photo booths with him one day. So glad I did!!

The sketch and design was greatly inspired by Ashley Horton.  I just love her work.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

4th Grade

Hello there! Thank you for stopping by today. I have big plans for September, and this layout is the beginning.

First of all, the sketch is provided by HipKit by Ashley Horton. The sketch is below. Isn't is awesome!?

Secondly, I'm entering this into the Scrap Our Stash challenge for September. I follow a lot of challenge blogs but don't always make the time to join in the fun. This site has great challenges every month. Go check it out!

And lastly, I always take a photo the first day of school. I don't buy school photos cause they are awful. I actually talk about that in a previous post.

I really made a point of taking a photo of him on his bike. One of the perks of moving to Texas is that the school is so close (all of them are actually). He loves that he gets to ride his bike to school.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

I used a black micron pen around the stars to break up
all the "white".
This specific flair button was used for the
twist in the Scrap Our Stash challenge.

JGL are my son's initials.

Supplies:
--Thick White Cardstock
--Bella Blvd. - Star Student
Maya Road Rub-Ons (these are ancient - been in my stash forever)
Jenni Bowlin Studio - JGL stickers
Prima Flair Buttons
Silhouette Cameo - title and star cut outs
Wooden Embellishments
Buttons
Twine
Micron Pen 08 - dots around stars
Other stuff from stash

Season's Greetings

Both PDE Linky Party and Die Cuttin' Divas have challenges this week for "anything goes".

I'm excited to get back to blogging and working with challenges again as I've really gotten away from it this summer.

There is also a challenge at Scrapbook.com to get an early start on Christmas cards.

The snowman is from Treasure Box Designs. I used brad buttons and a brad mistletoe in place of cutting tiny pieces.

Thanks for stopping by today.
