Studio Challenges: Use Those Numbers

It's time for a new challenge at Studio Challenges!! This challenge is to use some of those numbers that you have laying around your craft space.

Many of us chose to go with a birthday theme for our layouts. Well . . . me too!!!! After recently going thru my albums I discovered that I had not yet scrapped many of my son's birthdays. October is such a busy month I usually end up making a Fall layout! LOL

Instead of scrapping about the rough & tumble side of a boy, I went with the softer side. I loved using Pinkfresh Studio's 'Dream On' collection for this as the layout just fell right into place!!!

I followed this sketch from my Pinterest board.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

I loved the puffy alpha stickers from the Dream On collection
for the title.
Of course I added a little stitching and some blobs of ink.

Love to cluster embellishments!!!

Supplies:
Pink Fresh Studio - Dream On Collection
---Puffy Alphabet, Washi Stickers, Cardstock Die Cuts & Paper
Hand Stitching
October Afternoon Sprinklers - Night Sky
Dymo Label (year)
AC letters/numbers (the number 7)

Creative Scrappers: One of Those Great Days

It's time for a new sketch reveal with Creative Scrappers!! Here is the sketch.

I will admit, I found this sketch particularly challenging. My own style is all about using small bits of paper instead of large sheets. After scratching my head for a while, I decided to go "old school". By that I mean an older line of paper, older photos, and embrace an older style of scrapping.

The three squares are all 5"x5" each. I still couldn't bring myself to make them
any larger than that. However, I did manage to bust out the "scrappy" stapler!!

The photo squares and title are a mat file from the Silhouette Online store.

I reached for older photos from 2011. My son was so little!!!

Studio Challenges: Every Path has it's Puddle

Hello there! Today I'm here with a new challenge from Studio Challenges: Half patterned paper. You are to make half your page with patterned paper.

I took creative liberties with mine and turned it into an 8x8 GeoGlobe circle (from TheCutShoppe) instead of a large rectangle.

I am also playing along this month with ScraptheBoys: Dirt challenge.

The title is a mixture of font I purchased from The Hungry JPEG.

"Every parent should have a special photo of their child playing in mud puddles. It's the essence of childhood."

A charm from Tim Holtz collections

I added stitching to give a "break" to the large globe.

Supplies:
BoBunny - MammaRazzi 2, Et. Cetera
Bazzil Basics - Stitching Template
GeoGlobe - TheCutShoppe
Tim Holtz charm
Wooden Arrow
Charm from HL
Black felt star
Font from The Hungry JPEG
Cork Star
Gold Star

Chirp Up!

It's challenge time over at "If You Give a Crafter a Cookie". Here is the cookie for your inspiration.

Here is my interpretation for this cookie. I had an adorable robin's nest box card by SVGCuts, but I already made it last year. You can view it here.

So I found this adorable gem for free at BirdsCards. It was super easy to put together (like 5 minutes) so I added extra touches to doll this birdie up!!!

First, I reached for paper that I normally think is "ugly". It almost always works for odd projects.

Secondly, I added hand-stitching all around the bird, wing, twig and leaves. It gives it a craft fair feel. You know, those ladies that make cute stuffed animals out of anything, right?! I even made sure to add a button as the eye!

Last, I added a cute sentiment by My Craft Spot, complete with twine.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Supplies:
Pebbles: 6x6 Seen & Noted
AC White Cardstock
AC Smoke Cardstock
My Craft Spot stamp
Paper Piercer (for hand-stitching)
White Thread
Twine
