Vacation: A Trip to Remember

Hello all!!!

I did warn my readers that I would be posting a lot about my family's trip to Germany! This page is about our stop to Dresden, East Germany. I will be making another page just showing the beauty of the place, but also the residual feel of Communism that was left behind in East Germany.

So much of Germany was destroyed in WWII. Nearly every major city and building was demolished due to bombing. What's different about Europe in general is that the people want to preserve their history, not build something shiny and modern.

Dresden, Berlin, Hamburg, etc. is rebuilding what was destroyed. Because it's being rebuilt with copper, it already looks "old" since copper changes color so quickly, due to the weather. That's not really shown in these photos but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I was hugely inspired by the new sketch over at Stuck?!Sketches. So I thought I'd play along!

Thanks for stopping by today!!
